Construction & selection
Single-core copper power cables with PVC insulation. The illustrated unarmoured configuration has a separate PVC outer sheath; aluminium-wire-armoured variants are also shown in the reference catalogue.

Construction
Illustrated variant: CU/PVC/PVC unarmoured
- Copper conductor
The copper conductor forms the current-carrying element of the cable.
- PVC insulation
PVC provides the electrical insulation around the conductor.
- PVC outer sheath
PVC forms the external protective covering around the cable assembly.
The illustration shows the stranded option. The source table also includes solid conductors.

- * denotes circular solid conductor, Class 1; other rows circular stranded or circular stranded compacted, Class 2.
- Catalogue compound alternatives: PVC Type 5 heat-resisting 85°C with Type 9/ST2 sheath, OR PVC A/TI1 with ST1/TM1 sheath. The 85°C statement describes one compound option, not a universal cable operating rating.
- Catalogue specifies black insulation and sheath; source illustration differs in insulation colour.
