Construction & selection
Single-core copper cables with XLPE insulation and aluminium-wire armour. The illustrated construction uses PVC bedding and an outer PVC sheath; other sheath compounds require configuration-specific confirmation.

Construction
Illustrated variant: CU/XLPE/PVC/AWA/PVC
- Copper conductor
The copper conductor forms the current-carrying element of the cable.
- XLPE insulation
Cross-linked polyethylene forms the main electrical insulation around the conductor.
- PVC bedding
PVC forms a bedding layer between the insulated core assembly and the armour.
- Aluminium wire armour
Aluminium wires form the mechanical armour around the cable.
- PVC outer sheath
PVC forms the external protective covering around the cable assembly.
The illustrated variant uses PVC bedding and a PVC outer sheath; the LSZH alternative is not shown.
