Size and variant selection: Catalogue blanks and dashes are not product values. In the single-core table, the AWA data begins at 10 mm²; aluminium entries also begin at 10 mm². Multicore earth-conductor sizes must follow the specific source row. STA table options are not represented by the SWA diagrams.
02 / Medium voltage
XLPE insulated, copper tape screened cables
The MV & LV catalogue separates each construction by conductor material and rated voltage. Copper (CU) and aluminium (AL) records remain separate; steel tape armour is not interchangeable with an unarmoured construction.
| Construction family | Catalogue designation | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Single core, unarmoured | CU/XLPE/CTS/PVC or AL/XLPE/CTS/PVC | Printed pp. 23–36; PDF pp. 13–19 |
| Three cores, unarmoured | CU/XLPE/CTS/PVC or AL/XLPE/CTS/PVC | Printed pp. 37–50; PDF pp. 20–26 |
| Three cores, steel tape armoured | CU/XLPE/CTS/STA/PVC or AL/XLPE/CTS/STA/PVC | Printed pp. 51–64; PDF pp. 27–33 |
CTS: copper tape screen. STA: steel tape armour. PVC: polyvinyl chloride sheath. CU: copper conductor. AL: aluminium conductor.
Selected source-labelled voltage groups
These unambiguous table labels appear across the three construction families above. Confirm the required U₀/U(Um) designation, system earthing and current manufacturer datasheet for the enquiry.
| Catalogue voltage label | Single-core populated rows | Three-core populated rows | Printed pages: 1C / 3C / 3C STA |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.6/6 kV | 25–630 mm² | 25–500 mm² | 23–24 / 37–38 / 51–52 |
| 12/20 kV | 35–630 mm² | 35–500 mm² | 29–30 / 43–44 / 57–58 |
| 21/35 kV | 50–630 mm² | 50–500 mm² | 33–34 / 47–48 / 61–62 |
| 26/35 kV | 50–630 mm² | 50–500 mm² | 35–36 / 49–50 / 63–64 |
Ranges describe populated catalogue rows, not a guarantee of every current product or installation combination. Other voltage labels differ between the catalogue introduction and detailed tables, so those ratings require supplier clarification before selection.
Current-rating reference conditions
| LV current-rating reference | Soil 25°C; air 40°C; burial depth 1.4 m; soil thermal resistivity 1.0°C·m/W. Printed p. 22 (PDF p. 12). |
|---|---|
| MV current-rating reference | Soil 25°C; air 40°C; burial depth 700 mm; soil thermal resistivity 1.2°C·m/W. Single-core tables distinguish flat arrangement at 2D spacing and touching trefoil. |
| Engineering selection | Current capacity must be checked against the actual installation, grouping, ambient conditions and circuit protection. Catalogue current ratings must not be transferred between LV and MV conditions. |

04 / Project enquiry
Specify the cable for your installation
Provide the conductor material and size, core arrangement, voltage designation, installation method, armour or screening requirements, circuit duty and applicable project standards. Haishan Industry can use these requirements to identify the appropriate source construction and obtain the current technical documents.
Technical documents to confirm
Selected manufacturer datasheet, dimensional drawing, conductor resistance, current-rating conditions, applicable test reports, project-specific conformity documents and supply availability.
Source and identity
This collection uses Baosheng product catalogue information and source construction diagrams. Haishan Industry presents the selection and enquiry information; catalogue claims are not independent certification.
Sources: “3.2 Baosheng Catalog (MV&LV Power Cable)” and “3.1 Baosheng Product Catalog (all types)”, supplied for this collection. Printed page references are distinguished from PDF spread numbers. The all-types file carries 2018 metadata, so historical catalogue content must be checked against current manufacturer documents.
