Construction & selection

Triplex service-drop cable configurations. The illustrated selection has two insulated aluminium phase conductors twisted with one bare AAC aluminium messenger, without a common sheath. Application and messenger construction require confirmation.

Construction

Illustrated variant: XLPE insulated aluminium phases + bare AAC messenger

Representative construction of XLPE insulated aluminium phases + bare AAC messenger, with numbered components 1 to 4, explained below.
Representative construction of the selected variant; not to scale. Strand counts, colours and dimensions are illustrative.
  1. Aluminium phase conductors

The aluminium conductors form the current-carrying elements of the insulated phases.

  2. XLPE phase insulation

XLPE provides individual electrical insulation around each aluminium phase conductor.

  3. Bare AAC aluminium messenger

The bare AAC aluminium messenger supports the twisted assembly alongside the insulated phase conductors.

  4. Twisted service-drop assembly

The selected assembly combines two insulated phase conductors with one bare AAC aluminium messenger.

The image shows two XLPE-insulated aluminium phase conductors and one bare AAC aluminium messenger. PE insulation, AAAC and ACSR alternatives are not illustrated.

Manufacturer catalogue reference: PDF page 32 (printed page 28).

Source p.31: 600 V or lower; 600 V marking.

PDF p.31 lists B-230, B-231, B-232, B-399, B-339 and B-498. Its ANSI/ICEA S-76-474 sentence says Duplex, not Triplex; no verified Triplex compliance claim is made.

  • Source p.31 contains copied Duplex wording and a B-339/B-399 inconsistency. Applicable standards require manufacturer clarification.
  • Rated strength retains source kg label; no kgf/kN conversion. Size designations retain their source form without inferred units.
  • Ampacity is a catalogue reference only; confirm design conditions.
  • The Nannynose phase designation has an unresolved source inconsistency and is withheld pending manufacturer confirmation.
  • Values are transcribed from the supplied manufacturer catalogue, not independently certified test results. Final construction, applicable standard edition and project suitability require technical review.

Project-specific confirmation

Confirm the required conductor material, core arrangement, voltage designation, installation conditions, size and applicable standards with your enquiry. Reference tables on this page give data for the stated construction; confirm the selected current datasheet before ordering.

Illustrations are not engineering drawings or factory photographs. Final specifications and approved drawings will be confirmed with our official quotation. No certification or current manufacturer availability is implied by this family overview.
